TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining AMS, Donna obtained extensive experience working in health information management and medical staff services at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center and Saints Memorial Medical Center. Her experience includes:

  • Developed, and conducted a hospital-wide medical record security and risk assessment.  The methodology and tools were presented at the American Health Information Management Association's annual conference.

  • Comprehensive assessments in the case management, medical staff office and health information services department.

  • Coordinated a multi-level hospital-wide "Closing the Budget Gap" analysis project.

  • Comprehensive charge description master review and its impact on hospital reimbursement.

  • APC Implementation Project Leader - Lead hospital-wide team that was charged with training, education and implementation of the ambulatory patient classification reimbursement scheme.

  • Facilitated conversion of information systems within the Health Information Services, including SMS Invision System, Softmed Systems' Chart Management, Chart Script, Chart Fax, Chart Fact/Locator, ChartStat, Chart Release, ESA and Dictaphone Enterprise-Wide Express.

  • Coordinated Joint Commission activities related to Management of Information.  Implemented unit-based chart review to facilitate requirements for ongoing medical record review.

  • E/M physician based emergency department coding.

  • Coordinated merger of two medical record departments.

  • Coordinated implementation of unit chart order.

  • Gained initial ACS Certification and re-certification for the hospital-wide cancer program.

  • Established design criteria for the space requirements and process flow for medical record departments.

  • Implemented a centralized transcription service.

  • Implemented a continuous credentialing process within the medical staff office.

  • Consulted with psychiatric facility related for Joint Commission compliance and medical record policy and procedure review.
