TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Mr. Foley has conducted more
than 300 studies involving all hospital areas including nursing operating
room, recovery room, emergency room, laboratory, radiology, respiratory therapy,
and medical records.
As a registered pharmacist, his area of special expertise
is pharmacy.
The types of services provided include:

Surgical suite operational and staffing analysis
including direct observation of patient case flow and presentations
to surgical service committees Implementation of information

Hospital-wide labor benchmarking analysis and
department benchmarking by skill level

imaging department

In his 24 years with AMS, Mr. Foley has assisted
over 200 health care institutions. As a senior vice president, he is responsible
for conducting and supervising many projects. He has an in-depth knowledge
of all clinical areas which proves useful in conducting departmental
systems analysis. He utilizes personal computer database systems in
performing department analysis.
Prior to joining AMS, Mr. Foley was a clinical pharmacist in a teaching
hospital that provided complete IV additive services and a complete
unit dose distribution system. To remain current with the hospital environment,
he maintains his pharmacy license and works part time in hospital pharmacy
settings.

Mr. Foley has presented papers on productivity systems at professional
association meetings. He provides inservices to department managers
on applying benchmarking tools to assist in developing labor budgets.
He is a contributing author in the AHA book Hospital Departmental
Profiles, and attends the annual hospital pharmacists meeting.
