TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Mr. Camara brings over 25 years of progressive healthcare management experience to AMS. His expertise includes direction of clinical laboratories as well as diagnostic imaging, cardiology, and radiation oncology departments. He brings the following attributes to our consulting practice:

  • Nineteen years experience in university and community hospitals providing direction in all clinical diagnostic services.

  • Design and implementation of centralized core laboratories notable for high automation, seamless integration with clinical information systems, and high-productivity staffing.

  • Establishment and growth of profitable clinical laboratory and diagnostic imaging outreach programs with emphasis on scientific excellence and exemplar customer service.

  • Extensive accreditation and regulatory experience with the CAP, AABB, Joint Commission, OSHA, CLIA, and other local, state and federal agencies.

  • Design and implementation of several sophisticated clinical information systems in clinical laboratories and diagnostic imaging, emphasizing 'information anywhere' access and an optimal user experience.

  • Direction and optimization of multi-million dollar annual operating budgets, capital equipment acquisition, vendor negotiations, instrument and selection and workstation optimization.

  • In-depth experience in all aspects of billing and reimbursement for diagnostic services.

  • Providing consulting support in laboratory operations, management, billing & reimbursement

  • Extensive and in-depth understanding of the pressures currently placed on laboratories by managed care and the changing health care environment.
