Management is both an art and a science – with a required skill that is completely independent to the skills of a clinician, financial leader, or any other non-managerial position. An individual’s ability to be strong in their field of practice has no bearing on their ability to manage a department or lead others, yet many managers in the health care environment have become managers due to their excellence as clinicians.
AMS provides management education, mentoring and advising to all levels of hospital leadership. AMS educates these individuals on how to manage all aspects of running a department, from financial to operational to the human resource skills and knowledge needed to manage a department. The leadership education provided by AMS will allow both departments and hospital leadership to incorporate best practices into the operations at their facility.
