By background, AMS is a professional services organization established in 1967 and was owned by the Massachusetts Hospital Association for 30 years. AMS has been privately held since 1997 and is exclusively dedicated to health care. Our professional staff is one of the largest concentrations of health care operations expertise in one firm. The AMS staff has extensive background and experience in consulting, clinical settings, and formal education and training-with content experts in nursing, emergency department, surgical suite, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, compliance, management engineering, physician practice management, health information management, patient financial services, quality management and nearly every other functional area in a health care organization.
AMS consists of two service lines:
Systems Engineering (SEG) performs all of the operational management and process improvement work. AMS consulting staff have expertise and credentials across the complete spectrum of health care operations, from care delivery, to support services, to information systems, to revenue enhancement.
Health Information Management & Compliance (HIMC) focuses on revenue cycle components involving patient information, documentation, HIPAA, coding audits, RAC, support and training, compliance, interim management, charge master reviews, Joint Commission readiness, and other traditional medical record functions.
