Strategic management refers to the ability of Applied Management Systems (AMS) to provide guidance and implementation assistance to hospitals and departments through a change process. This can be on a variety of departmental or enterprise wide levels as well as a number of types of projects. Strategic management refers to everything from implementation assistance of a new information system to guidance and support regarding a hospital system merger or consolidation.
